I apologise for the lack of updates again, there is rather a lot of info I need to upload but I am not feeling very well at the moment, so this may have to wait until tomorrow. Although I may try tonight if I can shake this headache with a nap. Bright screens hurt too much at the moment though. There are many notes to upload, all my off site drawing for the past few weeks with Lothar, and more zbrush work and sillhoetts. 🙂 just need a short sleep first, hopefully not for the night. I’ll post a picture of the new concept art book that has had me gasping all this week, monster hunter illustrations vol1. So much great concept art, I feel so inspired. Great creature concepts and the armours!!! Weapons!!! I love it too much!!!

Working on some Values
Sorry for the lack of updates yesterday, it was a bit of a whirlwind rollercoaster ride, ending with a meet up with some like minded people with the idea of starting an Indie company.
Everything went well and I look forward to Meeting with MC next Monday to discuss Ideas.
The Values today were sporadic and turned out rather interesting. I’m rather pleased with these.
Steam Punk Research
So to really mix my ideas for diligence up, I’m going to try and make a Steampunk Bee Humanoid. Representing the hardworking technological progression of the Victorians and the tireless lives of Bees. I found a wonderful Steam punk fashion site that had some lovely clothes and accessories, and also has Felicia Day and Will Wheaton as Models on the front page. Amazing.
The Bodices and Corsets would be fun to incoporate into the insect like body if I decide to go that route, and the fact that a lot of the clothing of the period is stripey could be a massive bonus for amalgamation (not that I want it to be easy, always want a challenge).
The Accessories Are another thing I love about Steampunk, Pocketwatches, broaches, interesting weapons that are completely off the wall and of the top in outlandish ways.
The Striped Socks are my Favorite, but many of the others can be reworked to play on the whole BeePunk theme I’m going for.
Zbrush Practice
Tonight tries a bit of random Zsphere positioning, just to see if I could create some insect like humanoid faces by Converging spheres, leaving gaps, clay building them up with dynamesh too, and interactive slicing to give a flatter plane to areas. it’s a bit monstrous, but effective I think.
The Angular features here have made me want to take a look at the style of the characters in Star Wars the old Republic.
I like the style of this type of model also, I just need to research it more, this also leads me to the style used in Wildstar.
I can not put into words how much I love Wildstar and it’s Art style, and the game isn’t even out yet, It’s like some kind of dream combination between a Pixar movie, World of Warcraft, Sifi and cowboy steampunk mash up. It doesn’t take itself to seriously and all it’s characters can easily been seen for what they are. Although I have many peers that are interested in ultra realist art, and I too have a place for it, this art style is where I feel most at home.
Weekend Notes
Beegirl Revisited
Just Playing about again, Not to keen on this one feels to forced for an alchemy Image. But the fur for it is good.
Not entirely happy with this one either, I’m beginning to think I need to loosen up again, This looks to much like one of the Xmen, also need to think a little less human, and I’ve forgotten to try the more stylized approach of Pixar…Â @_@
Bees
I Have Been Researching into Bees as they are one of the first things that pops up on a google search of Diligence.
Did you know that there are 24 species of Bumble Bee in the UK alone, yet there is only 1 type of Honey Bee in the Whole of Europe.
For this Reason I Think I am going to go with Bumble Bee as the basis as I can have more variety that way.
I can also raise bumble Bee awareness. 🙂
There…are…so many types of BumbleBee, and all the colours and patterns are great!!!
These Could make some fantastic costume variants that I look forward to trying, or even different hair and body colours.
Then there comes the science part, what all the parts are and what purpose they serve.
